The standards provide technical guidance to demonstrate compliance with aircraft HIRF regulations. They may be applied to new aircraft, modification of existing aircraft and installation of existing systems on aircraft that have not previously used that equipment.
This standard prescribes minimum performance requirements for low-risk protection from mission-aborting damage or upset due to High-Altitude Electromagnetic Pulse (HEMP) threat environments (defined in MIL-STD-2169B). The standard also addresses minimum testing requirements for demonstrating prescribed performance has been achieved and for verifying that the installed protection subsystem provides the operationally required hardness for the completed facility. These uniform requirements ensure balanced HEMP hardening for all critical facilities in the network.
DEF STAN 00-250 is the successor and update of DEF STAN 00-25 to account for considerable changes in UK Defence acquisition, particularly the emphasis on the acquisition of through life capabilities, using multi-disciplinary Systems Engineering and Systems Integration. The result is a restructured and updated DEF STAN 00-250 and principle areas where the standard is significantly changed are:
Use the drawings found on this page to standardize fabrication, installation and construction methods for specific items of work. They complement the contract documents and the Standard Specifications for Road, Bridge and Municipal Construction.
WSDOT continues, in cooperation with FHWA, our implementation of the AASHTO Manual for the Assessment of Safety Hardware (or MASH). MASH is the new national standard for crash testing and design of new roadside barrier. With the MASH implementation schedule now complete, the Design Office has recently removed a number of standard plans that do not represent MASH compliant design, while new designs are in development and published over time. In the meantime, these plans can be viewed on the Plan Sheet Library, and may be incorporated into projects upon review and on a case by case basis.
Each drawing has been prepared under the direct supervision of a professional engineer, licensed in the state of Washington, knowledgeable in the specialized field of civil engineering depicted in that drawing. These drawings standardize fabrication, installation, and construction methods for specific items of work, and complement the contract documents and the Standard Specifications for Road, Bridge, and Municipal Construction. Superseded manuals may be accessed through the Standard Plans Manual Archive . 2b1af7f3a8
