Its origin was declared to be the Skene's gland, but that has been contested. The Skene's gland has been thought of as being responsible for the emission of urine during ejaculation in men. The major difference with the female ejaculation, is that the Skene's gland is not involved in the emission of urine and does not propel the fluid under pressure during ejaculation, rather it is merely a filtering duct from the coagulating gland for the post-orgasmic liquefaction of seminal plasma.[1] In the Skene's gland, as in the prostate, the epithelial lining of the duct has chemoattractant receptors for catecholamines, stimulating the contraction of smooth muscle resulting in the seminal vesicle filling with water and accumulates in the ejaculatory duct that passes into the urethral meatus, helping the seminal plasma and urine to pass through the ejaculatory duct.[10]
