We haven´t had much experience with Drumazon, but what we can tell you about the solo is that it represents the best of what D16 is about. While the selection of drum sounds doesn´t go beyond what might be expected from a full drum machine, they´re well thought out enough and the sequencer is simple enough to use to create a number of styles with ease. The problem is that they don´t represent the true nature of a solo drum machine too well - a proper solo could never be created on them.
Despite its array of controls, Drumazon is a relatively simple piece of kit, and arguably because it doesn´t require a lot of fine-tuning. If you´ve got a basic palette of sounds that you want to build into a beat, it should be quicker and easier to use than something with more to it, and Nepheton serves this purpose admirably. The one problem with Nepheton is that most of the drum kits on offer are either quite narrow or quite tall, and that makes an 808-style kick more (a touch) narrow and a kick and snare more (a touch) taller than the originals. In the end, the extreme sparkle and snap won´t necessarily be missed, but if you´ve got your own favourite 808 kick, it´d be worth auditioning both versions.
This is the 709 cloned drum engine. Ladies and gentlemen, play with your hands outstretched please, because we´re only getting this sample pack because it keeps this inexpensive PC the least viable option to emulate the classic drum machine of all time. 7211a4ac4a
